Latest Crime stats for Brownhills
Brownhills ranks favourably against the average crime rate in the borough. In fact, it’s the second safest town of its size in the West Midlands, coming in with only 97 crimes per 1,000 people. The most common types of crimes reported are Violence and Sexual Offences, Vehicle Crime, Public Order, and Criminal Damage and Arson. Just earlier this year, a flat along High Street went up in flames, causing the shop below it to shut down.
Abandoned sites are one of the biggest threats to residents. Along Lindon Road a host of disused industrial buildings have attracted vandals and thieves. Ravens Court, an abandoned shopping district in the heart of Brownhills, is a known hotspot of vandals and anti-social behaviour. Attempts to rehabilitate the area have twice fallen through. As of 2022, supermarket chain Aldi owns the site, which it plans to turn into a second superstore based in Brownhills.
